We are thrilled to launch the Philly Folk Cycle Sessions in partnership with the Iglesias Community Garden’s 2nd Annual Tianguis Cultural. Come celebrate Worker’s Day and stand in solidarity with the artists, chefs, makers and organizers who make this important community project possible 365 days a year!
The full festival features local foodways, artisans, performers, and more. It runs from 12-7pm and the Folklore Project will be there from 2-6pm with a special pop-up installation produced in partnership with Los Herederos via their flagship invention, The Sonicycle. A DJ platform, documentary tool and community activation platform ‘rolled’ into ONE, the Sonicycle literally takes the party wherever it goes. Resident DJ Laura Se Fue will be spinning her best cumbias, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Bring your favorite vinyls and try out the decks yourself!
We will also be running a concurrent community documentation booth and invite you to share your favorite memories and stories of the neighborhood. RSVP and stay tuned for more details over the next few days!
