In the Philadelphia Folklore Project’s first “Folk Arts and Social Change” residency, we feature four vanguard cultural workers of the African Cultural Art Forum: Frito Bastien, Isaac Maefield, Rashie Abdul Samad, and Sharif Abdur-Rahim. Together, they founded and operate a long-standing community-based business as well as fill PFP’s gallery with folk arts from the African Diaspora, which were made and gathered over 40+ years. Come see and share your experiences with alternative cultural production. Find the piece that speaks to you and State Your Piece.
